AuthentiScan Pro ("the App", "we", "our") is a digital credibility analysis platform that helps users evaluate online content for potential misinformation, source credibility, and AI-generated voice fraud. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our products. By using AuthentiScan Pro, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use AuthentiScan Pro, you may submit the following types of content for analysis:

• URLs — web addresses submitted for credibility assessment

• Text content — articles, posts, or written material submitted for fact-checking

• Audio recordings — voice recordings submitted for AI voice detection (web application only — see Section 12 for the browser extension)

This content is processed solely for the purpose of providing analysis results and is not stored permanently on our servers.

2.2 Account Information

If you choose to create an account, we collect:

• Email address

• Password (stored in encrypted form)

• Usage data such as number of scans performed
   

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information, including device type and operating system, browser type and version, anonymized IP address, and app usage and session information.

• Provide credibility analysis results in response to your submissions

• Improve the accuracy and performance of our analysis algorithms

• Maintain and improve functionality and user experience

4. Audio Data and Microphone Access (Web Application Only)

This section applies to the AuthentiScan Pro web application only. The browser extension does not access your microphone and does not record, transmit, or process any audio.

The web application requests access to your device's microphone solely to record audio samples for AI voice detection analysis. Regarding audio data:

• Audio recordings are transmitted securely to our analysis servers.

• Audio recordings are temporarily uploaded to secure cloud storage (Vercel Blob) solely to facilitate processing by our AI detection system, and are automatically and permanently deleted immediately after analysis, typically within seconds.

• We use Resemble AI's DETECT-3B technology to analyze audio for synthetic voice characteristics.

• Audio recordings are never shared with third parties for any purpose other than the analysis described above.

• You may revoke microphone access at any time through your device settings.
   

5. Third-Party Services

AuthentiScan Pro uses the following third-party services to deliver its functionality:

• Anthropic Claude API — natural language analysis and fact-checking

• ElevenLabs — speech-to-text transcription (web application only)

• Resemble AI — AI voice detection (web application only)

• Vercel — application hosting, content delivery, and temporary audio storage

Each service has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary to perform the requested analysis.
 

6. Data Retention

• Submitted content (URLs, text) — processed in real time and not stored beyond the current session

• Audio recordings — temporarily stored in Vercel Blob during processing and permanently deleted immediately after analysis, typically within seconds (web application only)

• Account information — retained while your account is active

• Usage logs — retained up to 90 days for security and performance

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below.
 

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, secure server infrastructure provided by Vercel, automatic deletion of audio files immediately after analysis, and no permanent storage of submitted content after analysis. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
 

8. Children's Privacy

AuthentiScan Pro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
 

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to opt out of any non-essential data processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
 

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Browser Extension — Specific Disclosures

This section describes the data practices of the AuthentiScan Pro browser extension, which are narrower than the web application's.
 

What the extension collects

The extension collects only the content you actively choose to analyze, at the moment you request it:

• Page address (URL): when you click "Scan This Page", the extension reads the URL of your current active tab and sends it for analysis. It does not read URLs from other tabs and does not monitor your browsing in the background.

• Selected or pasted text: when you use the Text option, the extension sends the text you selected on the page or pasted into the popup. This occurs only when you start a scan.
   

What the extension does NOT do

The extension does not access your microphone, record or process audio, collect your browsing history, read passwords or form data, or require an account. It does not collect anything from pages you have not explicitly asked it to scan.
 

How the data is handled

Submitted URLs and text are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to app.authentiscanapp.com solely to generate the credibility result shown in the popup. The most recent result is stored temporarily in your browser's session storage and is cleared when the tab is closed or the browser session ends. We do not build a persistent history of what you analyze through the extension, and we do not sell or share this data for advertising.

Limited Use. Our use of information collected through the browser extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the extension's functionality and use it only for that purpose.
 

Your control

The extension acts only when you ask it to — no scan and no data transmission occurs otherwise. You can remove the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page, which stops all data collection.
